Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to Learnade's learning, course, library, practice, community, assignment, AI tutor, live-class, account, wallet, and support features. A separately identified Learnade product may provide an additional product-specific privacy notice. For example, the standalone Lesson Plan Generator has its own privacy notice.

Third-party services that you open from Learnade, including Google Meet and app-store payment services, process information under their own privacy policies as well as the commitments described here.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account and profile information: name, email address, account identifier, profile photo, authentication provider, email or phone verification status, education level, course or programme, preferences, and onboarding responses.
  • Teacher information: teacher role, biography, subjects, professional or registration details, years of experience, school, region, district, qualifications, and teacher type when supplied for teacher features.
  • Learning and activity information: course enrollments, lesson and reading progress, bookmarks, practice answers and results, streaks, points, timetables, searches, feature activity, and learning preferences.
  • Content and communications: class and community posts, chat messages, assignments, submissions, class materials, feedback, AI prompts and responses, and images, PDFs, or other files you choose to upload.
  • Live-class information: class membership, teacher and student roles, session status, Google Meet joining URL and meeting-space identifier, start and end times, and attendance or join timestamps recorded in Learnade.
  • Purchase and wallet information: credit balance and ledger, product or plan, purchase status, transaction or store reference, entitlement dates, refund or chargeback status, and fraud-prevention records. Payment-card details are handled by the applicable app store or payment processor rather than stored directly by Learnade.
  • Device and technical information: app version, device and operating-system information, notification token, diagnostics, crash information, security events, and service logs.

Learnade requests device permissions only when relevant to a feature—for example, notifications, camera or photo access for selected uploads, file access for documents, or local-network access for a user-initiated sharing feature. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.

3. Google Sign-In and Google Meet

Connecting a Google account is optional. If you use Google Sign-In, Learnade receives the basic profile information you approve, such as your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier. We use it to sign you in and connect you to your Learnade profile.

When a teacher starts a live class, Learnade uses the Google Meet permission approved by the teacher to create and manage only meeting spaces created through Learnade. We obtain the joining link so permitted class members can join, and we can end that conference when the teacher ends the live session.

Learnade stores the approved basic profile information and limited live-class details such as the meeting link, meeting-space identifier, class, session status, and timestamps. We do not store the teacher's Google access token or access Meet audio, video, recordings, transcripts, or Google Calendar data. Meeting links are shared only with the teacher and permitted members of the related Learnade class. Google user data is not sold or used for advertising.

You can disconnect Learnade from your Google Account connections page. This stops future authorized Google API access. You can separately delete your Learnade account as described below.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create, authenticate, secure, and manage Learnade accounts.
  • Provide courses, books, practice, progress tracking, classes, assignments, and community features.
  • Generate AI-assisted explanations, questions, study support, and other requested content.
  • Create and manage live-class meeting spaces at a teacher's request.
  • Deliver notifications about classes, assignments, accounts, and Service updates.
  • Process credits, purchases, entitlements, refunds, and related support.
  • Respond to feedback, support requests, and safety reports, and process account deletions.
  • Measure feature performance, troubleshoot errors, prevent fraud or abuse, and improve reliability.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. AI Processing

When you choose an online AI feature, Learnade may send your prompt, relevant conversation context, and selected attachments to configured cloud AI and backend services to produce the requested result. Do not include sensitive personal information about yourself or another person unless it is necessary and you have authority to provide it.

Some supported offline AI features process prompts and responses on the device and may store the conversation in app-private local storage. Downloading or licensing an offline model can still require network requests that create ordinary security and delivery logs, but model-download requests do not require the text of your private prompts.

Learnade does not use information obtained through Google Sign-In or the Google Meet OAuth scope to train generalized AI models or for advertising profiles.

6. When We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information:

  • To other users:when a feature is designed for sharing, such as a class, assignment, community post, message, profile, or meeting link. Visibility depends on the feature and the user's role.
  • To service providers: including Google and Firebase for authentication, database, storage, analytics, diagnostics, messaging, AI, and Meet; search, content-delivery, cloud infrastructure, app-store, and payment providers needed to operate requested features.
  • For safety and legal reasons: when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users or the Service, enforce agreements, or comply with lawful requests.
  • Business changes: as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable notice and consent requirements.

Service providers may process information only for the contracted service and under their applicable terms and data-protection commitments.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the Service, maintain user-requested content, meet legal or accounting duties, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Retention depends on the type of information:

  • Account, profile, learning, and saved content are generally kept while the account is active.
  • Class and Meet metadata are retained with the related Learnade class or session until they are deleted or no longer needed for class administration, safety, or recordkeeping.
  • Payment, wallet, fraud, tax, and transaction records may be retained for legally required or reasonably necessary accounting, security, dispute, and audit periods.
  • Technical logs and backups are retained for limited operational, security, and recovery periods and then deleted or de-identified under provider and Learnade retention processes.
  • Offline conversations and downloads remain on the device until removed by the user or app.

Signed-in users can permanently delete their account from Settings → Delete Account in the mobile app or from the website's Delete Account page. After confirmation, Learnade deletes the authentication account, profile, enrollments, lesson plans, and feedback information. Information already shared with others, legally retained transaction or security records, and residual backups may not disappear immediately.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or update your account and profile information.
  • Delete your account and eligible personal information.
  • Withdraw consent or revoke a connected Google account.
  • Object to, restrict, or request a copy of certain personal information where applicable.
  • Manage notifications, camera, photo, file, and local-network permissions through device settings.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request. Some rights are subject to lawful exceptions, including security, fraud prevention, recordkeeping, and the rights of other users.

9. Security

We use access controls, authenticated services, encryption in transit, app and backend integrity checks, logging, and other administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials private and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

10. Students and Children

Learnade provides educational features that may be used by students. A child or young person who is not legally able to consent to data processing or enter a contract must use the Service only with authorization and supervision from a parent, guardian, school, or other person legally permitted to provide that authorization. Teachers and schools should not upload unnecessary student personal information.

If you believe a child's information was provided without the authorization required by applicable law, contact us through the support method below so that we can review and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Learnade's features, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy here, change the effective date, and provide additional notice when required. Material changes to Google user-data practices will be reflected before the changed practice is used.
